THE EXPLOSION OF END-TIME SIGNS and the
PROPHETIC 'TIME-WARP' (Acceleration) in THE WORLD TODAY:
THE EXPLOSION IN POPULATION & KNOWLEDGE The sequence of end-time events could begin to unfold soon, according to the light of Bible prophecy on conditions in today's world. Today there is a real eye-opener happening in our world—one that ought to open the eyes of skeptics of Bible prophecy, especially in today's sleeping church. Since the time of Jesus Christ, the population growth of the world has remained almost flat when plotted on a graph. It resembles the path of an arrow, traveling horizontally for 1,700 years with only a slight incline. Then, around 1850, that population arrow metamorphosed into a moon-bound rocket ship, arching off the launch pad with a rumble, and by 1950 shooting straight up to the 7 billion people we have on the planet today.
RIGHT: The population explosion is central to the "acceleration-explosion" of human "progress" at the End Time. Revelation 9:16 predicts this unbelievable upsurge of global population in the Last Days.
This phenomenon of vertical population explosion is unprecedented in world history. Yet it is paralleled in virtually every category of human experience, all driven by an incredible acceleration in human knowledge. The knowledge explosion has spawned rapid transit and telecommunications systems that have, for the first time in history, set mankind within a hairs breath of a one-world political, economic, and religious system. This same acceleration in human progress has led to the development of other "chart busters." There is a corresponding increase in evil, in the development of weapons of apocalyptic destructive power, in environmental deterioration, and the list goes on. We are the "blowout" generation.
Population, knowledge, technology—they are all shooting straight up to a single point in history. This is the very scenario Bible prophecy says will exist in the last days.
LEFT: What the world terms "human progress" often is ungodly man-made endeavor. Yet that is the prophetic picture of the end-time world. But Bible prophecy nevertheless foretells of a world when all aspects of human culture will accelerate, ascending to unprecedented power, progress and growth--essentially "off-the-charts".
THE WORLD TODAY: THE EVENT-TIME WARP
A direct result of this rapid growth is the acceleration of time— that is, "event-time." While the timepiece on your wrist still ticks steadily onward at a rate synchronized with the rotation of the earth, the time interval between events has been compressed, yea, even crunched. Imagine traveling 50 mph while watching out your side window as telephone poles (see pic below) spaced 100 yards apart pass by. Suddenly they begin to fly by in a blur, not because your car accelerated, but because the poles are now spaced only 10 feet apart.
RIGHT: The telephone poles represent "world events". You are traveling down the highway, looking out the side window. Throughout history, these events (poles, spaced 100 feet apart) have marched steadily on through time. They suddenly become spaced 10 feet apart. Though the speed of you car remains the same (Clock Time), the poles begin to fly by your side window view in a blur ('Event Time'). Bible Prophecy End-Time Fulfillment is keyed to 'Event Time'.
We are seeing the acceleration of prophetic 'Event Time' today!
Through the acceleration effect of 21st century technology, events are exploding onto our world in the same way. In our lifetime, we are seeing mighty nations rise and fall literally overnight. Iran was transferred from the Shah to the Ayatollah in the space of a single day; the same happened with the breakup of the Soviet Union in 1990.The tragedy at the World Trade Center and the Pentagon on what we now know as 9/11/2001 changed the course of the world within a period of two hours. Time, when measured by events, has increased dramatically.Event-time is at mach speed! And Bible prophecy is tied to event-time.
Jesus, referring to the events of the last days in Luke 21:28 said, But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near. Today the world is poised to burst forth in rapid-fire fashion with the series of head-spinning events foretold by the prophets.
We are the generation that has seen the rebirth of the nation of Israel, accompanied by a host of stage-setting events budding forth as the leaves on a fig tree. These events will march into our world as an orderly, sequential parade of prophetic fulfillment. And we are
called upon to recognize these things as surely as we recognize the signs of nature, for in Mathew 24:32, 33 we read:
Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender, and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near; even so you too, when you see all these things, recognize that He is near
RIGHT: The 'off-the-charts' acceleration of technology is a prime example of the words of the prophet Daniel of how "knowledge will increase" in the Last Days. (Daniel 12:4) Notice that around 1950, the window of time when Israel was reborn (1948) as the centerpiece and super-sign of the End Time, the "increase of knowledge" shot straight up. Not shown on the chart is the "increase of knowledge" of the prophetic Scriptures, which is the primary meaning of Daniel 12:4 when referenced with Amos 8:12. But other passages such as Revelation 11 and 13 depict a global technology which presupposes a human-based knowledge acceleration at the End Time.
